1. The renter could have just purchased their own
2. It will probably be in not so great condition depending on the renter

Right. And I pity the 3rd generation renter of one of their handhelds. I also pity the "dude" who convinces himself that he's just going to cruise around with a PDA for a week and ends up buying it.

Those testimonials seemed a little fishy too.

these type of rentals (like laptops, monitors, etc.) are geared at companies, not individuals.
