Are the WinCE and Palm fanatics in the usenet newsgroups giving you a hard time for choosing Handspring's Visor? Are you tired of being confronted with the same tired myths about the Visor?
Well, I just stumbled over a nifty site that will provide you with additional ammunition. Check out http://www.geocities.com/jkirvin/wr...olumn991228.htm
He explodes four Visor myths:

The Visor is crippled because the OS is not upgradable.

Springboards are vaporware.

The Palm Vx is faster than the Visor.

Handspring cannot get it's act together.

An excellent article... just confirms what I've figured out for myself here at VisorCentral.

Yep, great article. Personally, even if these myths were true, I'm still happy with my Visor. Don't need color, don't need more speed. That's what PCs are for. This is to keep me on track with my appointments and the critical info I need with me all the time. I'll worry about bigger, better and faster as it relates to my PC.

Just one note on the Myth of Vx being faster then the Visor. If you have Afterburner and CruiseControl on BOTH machines - the Vx is faster. And if you really want it to fly throw in StreakHack on both.
I would have to say that this Myth is in fact a fact.

I mentioned in the column that once you load CruiseControl on the Vx and AfterBurner on the Visor, all bets are off. Out of the box, the Visor is faster, even with a lower clock speed.

I am not trying to put down the article. You did an excellent job on the other misconceptions, but for speedheads out there who will load all available programs, in the end the Vx will move faster.
see Vx Benchmark thread on deja.com - comp.sys.palmtops.pilot
