Unhappy

Wow, I've only had my Visor for just over a week, and I've been using with a PDA Panache stylus for all of that time except briefly that first day, and the main window area and graffiti area is scratched up.

What a freakin' soft screen.

I have ordered writerights.. will they camoflage the scratches so it looks like there aren't any?

Bismark:

Maybe you should try and see if you can get a replacement. Then you can put the writerights on that.

Well, I suppose that's a possibility, but the thing is, is it just some screens that are softer than usual and thus scratching more easily, or is it all the screens that share the same characteristics?

I ask because if they're all the same, it seems pointless to get a replacement if I'm just going to scratch it up again..

Try Screen Clean, and screen polish available at PalmGear: http://store.yahoo.com/pilotgear/screenen1.html . It purports to remove almost all surface scratches (but not deep scratches). Also, some people claim that Turtle Wax does the job just fine.

I have thought of using turtle wax, but the thought makes me cringe... can't get the nerve up.

To answer your original question, yes writerights camoflage the scratches (unless they're REALLY bad, anyway). I had a figure 8 scratch I put on mine before my writerights came, and I never noticed it with them on.

Cool

I have found that if you take a small piece of black fine grit emery paper and slightly sand the burs on your stlyus down it would help your screen from scratching

Thumbs down

Yeah, same thing with mine, except I only got mine Thursday night, and by Friday night it was scratched. Meanwhile the Palm IIIe which I got a month ago and just gave to my wife is fine, even though it's been used much more. And like you, I only used a PDA Panache stylus from the beginning, based on recommendations I read here.

I really like the overall Visor Deluxe, but this screen softness rots!

The Screen Clean product, as posted by Gameboy above, does NOT work. I have used it and it did nothing for my Visor. I have posted more details on this previously.
