After a week of using VDX the screen commands respond sporatically and the slightest squeeze or bending of unit gives these awful virtical streaks. I contacted Handspring and they were good about sending out a refurbished unit. The CS guy never heard of these problems and I can't find similar posts.
Could using a homemade screen protector cause this(a cut out overhead projector transparency touching under the plastic).
From your experiences with second or third units, how many are satisfied with the "refurbished" units?
I have had two refurbished Visor Deluxe units: my original Visor stopped responding to the buttons and Handspring promptly replaced it a no cost; a butter-fingered airport security person dropped the replacement and Handspring promptly replaced it for an $85 screen replacement fee.
Both replacement units have been quite satisfactory.
