As some of you know, I recently caused the accidental death of my VDX. I got a Platinum today, but the speaker seems VERY different.

It sounds hollow, lower in pitch and almost like there's something blocking the speaker. Since the VDX is dead, I can't compare the two speakers.

Anyone run across this before? Might I have a flaky unit?

I think I remember reading the Prisms make louder tones than the VDX (but I think all Visors still have no speakers, right?), but don't remember any commens re this on the Plat.

I got a replacement visor deluxe and the speaker (or placement thereof) is different from the old unit to the new. These 2 units looked indentical but the sound is totally different. As you mentioned, hollow and more bass.

Platinum and PRism, as I recall use a different - louder speaker. yeah!
