Question

The File Mover program that comes preinstalled on the Minstrel S memory has an option to Format the Minstrels memory. Will this erase everything including the File Mover program and the Minstrels Default programs as well? I dont really care about Yadas Mail and browser there the reason I got so curious about the format option. I emailed Yada and I am waiting for a response. I thought maybe somebody has tried this already and would let us know how it worked out. Thanks

Where did you find this option. I am willing to try it.

Thumbs down

Just tried it... it only erases your programs and leaves theirs intact. Man...

I just called them to say that enough is becoming enough and to request an RMA. They suggested buying a Minstrel S from Novatel and purchasing a plan from Verizon for 24 bucks a month. Ah... did he just slip or did he just say 24 dollars a month. Well, no less he was an idiot because he promised (PROMISED, is this just a word or should people live up to this?) that someone would call me back and discuss my RMA.

I tried it' and no luck. The Yada software was still there. I guess there is no way of using a different wireless provider as long as yada's software still loads every time you insert the modem. See past discussion post (Same Minstrel modem, different provider) http://discussion.visorcentral.com/...?threadid=10139

And it's $0.08/kb for roaming outside of their markets. If you never leave the mid-Atlantic, then you're fine. If you travel everywhere in the USA, then a reseller with a flat rate, like Yadayada or OS, might make more sense if your internet usage is heavy. Like mine.
