I am thinking about upgrading my NT4 machine to Win 2000. I would continue to sync via the serial port until new drivers are released. I am wondering if I will have any problems once I upgrade. Are there any issues I should be aware of? Thanks.

I've been hot synching serially with Win2K since I got my visor 6 weeks ago. No real problems, just some sporatic dropping connections. I think I remember seeing a post were someone said to drop the speed of the comm port and try that, but I really haven't bothered. I am waiting for the USB upgrade to the Desktop software so that I can synch using USB to Win2K.
Hope this helps.

I upgraded to W2K about a month ago and have been syncing with serial without any problems.
FYI - I did a clean install of W2K, however, I doubt doing an upgrade would result in any difference with regards to the Visor.

Does hotsyncing work via IR from the HS to ones notebook under Win2000*?
I would rather use IR and wait for the gold build of the HS USB driver than fork out $20 for a slower serial connection.

IR hot syncing is not an "out of the box" capability of the Visor. You have to buy a third party app, IrLink (by IS/Complete http://www.iscomplete.com/ ) to do this. To my knowledge, not even Palm's stuff can IR sync with Win2K at this point.
