I still want my sling-shot module! This time, I want to track its target in the visor screen givin extra data like distance and speed of target.

I wanted something similar to that also. A combination of devices. I would like to see a module that sent out RF signals that could control a Powerpoint presentation, sorta of like the device that was proposed for the Palm by??? but never made it to market.

I think a few people go overboard and want the visor to replace every piece of electronic equipment they own. I already own a cordless phone, a remote control, and an mp3 player. Yeah lets make a module that lets you plug in a keyboard and a mouse and every other peripheral in my house. They make one of those its called a desktop computer. The digital camera module is so exspensive you might as well buy a digital camera. Pretty soon you'll have so many modules you'll have to get a carrying case to carry them all. At that point you might as well have a laptop.

Now that I've made fun of all the gadget geeks here are the legitmate modules I'd like to see:
1. 802.11b wireless card
2. TI-86 calculator
3. The cell phone one maybe, or at least an adapter to plug my visor into my cell phone.

And no I don't need the blender module to check my email in the kitchen, or the camcorder module so I can film my own movies with my visor.

One other thing for all math geeks out there -- how about a springboard that does TeX and LaTeX? So you could write TeX or LaTeX source code, compile it, and view the DVI? Heck, just a good DVI viewer would be cool enough.

There are probably about three or four people out there who even know what I am talking about, so I will leave it at that. :-)

After I get my fantasy (for now) Visor in COLOR, I want a module that would play tiny DVD-type disks. Entire full-length movies.

Frankly, I'm looking forward to the Minijam (and I still want a Taser/Phaser/Laser Springboard too!) ZAP!!!

Maybe I'm old fashioned but how about a am/fm radio module? Maybe have it where you plug in some headphones on the Module. Also how about the possibility of a Sony Minidisc module? Hey it could happen??!!

With all the new (and very useful) USB devices coming to the market -- it would be great to have a USB host module so we, the proud Visor owners, can use all of those devices with our V's. Imagine hooking up a camera, scanner, mouse, keyboard, or even a JOYSTICK!!!!!

I'd like to see a clock/calendar module,
driven by the 60khz time signals from WWVB.
The Visor's own time display would be driven
from this module and the time would
automatically change from standard to
daylight savings time and back on the correct
dates. Oh, the module would also have 8mb
of memory on it.

I'd also like to see a document scanner
module, if the scanner head could be made
reasonably small. Maybe the scanner head
could be detached from the module and put
on the end of a cable for a little more
flexibility.

Lastly, a 2-meter or UHF receiver module
coupled with APRS and mapping software so
you can track all your APRS-equipped friends
as they drive around.

We just wanted to say that James is correct...we basically have an MMC reader as a byproduct of creating MiniJam and we plan to make a simple, single slot MMC reader/writer as soon as possible (but first we launch MiniJam over the next few weeks!). With MiniJam you have drag and drop files from the desktop to the Visor/MiniJam via the USB cradle. We will use this same software scheme for the MMC reader/writer. We will also post an SDK/API/Developer kit as well for developers who would like to create solutions that require mass storage on a Visor. Developers should sign up at our developer page and mention MMC READER/WRITER in the comments section.

You might want to read the press release from SanDisk (the people that make MMC) located at http://www.sandisk.com/pr/000620_innogear.htm which came out this week during MP3.com Summit.

We will post more information on the MMC reader/writer as it becomes available.
