Maybe someone can help me here. I am under the impression that we all expect something revolutionary from the Handspring folks each time a product is released. Now, if SmartHand is really a Palm V sized PDA, would it be revolutionary enough for it to use USB both for syncing and for battery recharging? (You can't get Palm V thinness with AAA batteries because they're just too thick. So, you'd need some kind of built-in rechargeable battery to achieve the slimness.) USB can also transfer power, so, at least in theory, USB could be used to charge the batteries. Also, if the battery pack were actually replaceable, this would give comfort to many who fear a Palm V's life is only as long as the non-replaceable battery. Further, a replaceable battery would mean a case which could be opened. Again, giving comfort to those who fear the Palm V sealed case. Finally, such a design would eliminate the need for the Palm V travel pack separate power and syncing cords. Both could be accomplished by one USB cable. So, the question is would such a product be "revolutionary" enough to carry the Handspring name?
