Sayanara? Nyet!

I think the reports implying the death of Avantgo are highly overrated. I have a couple of obscure "custom channels", but the majority of the information I download comes through the regular old Avantgo channels.

I do get a kick out of people "bashing" Avantgo as a memory hog. Its as big as you make it. It is kind of like buying a GMC Jimmy and then being incredulous about the gas mileage. If I will be synching via cradle with my broadband connection I will download my full compliment of channels. If I head out on the road with my Thinmodem I reduce the channels to Weather and the Boston Globe. Simple as that.

I swear....some of these people would pi** and moan about carrying in the Sunday paper...."its so much heavier than the other days".

I lost two channel in this purge.

Gist tv and the AOL PDA newsletter. Both of which I can get through email if I want.

I guess all by other custum channels are rarely used.

Happy Treo 600 user, so far. Thanx Cingular for having an unlocked phone.

My Treo 600 is my phone, my PDA, my watch, and my MP3 player. Oh yeah, I take a picture once in a while with it. Convergence is such a great thing.

While I am 'in town', I rarely even have AvantGo on my Prism, but it is great to have when travelling!

I doubt this change will affect most of their customer base- WE are not really typical users!

Hi,
I use Plucker to retrieve the AOL PDA newsletter for
viewing on my Visor.
