PC Restriction Software

Hey all I am hoping that you can point me in the right direction.

My Brothers are wrecking havoc on my PC (they don't know what they are doing) and I want to restrict what they can do on it. My first thought was to password protect the computer and ban them all together. The thing is that I DO want them to use it and learn more about it (besides there is not much where I live for them to do this summer). Are there any software packages that you are aware of that would allow me to be sort of an administrator for my PC? i have looked all over download.com without any luck.

If it is Win 98 there is one way. You would need to create seperate users one user for you and one for them. Then there is a piece of software called, something I forget the name. It alays you to lock down and configure any account like you can do in Win NT. It makes changes directly to your registry so before you use it back up your registry. Also make sure which account you are editing because it can be a little confusing. It is a very powerful piece of software and is free. Now I just need to remember the F****** name.

poledit (Policy editor)... it's on the Win95 or 98 cd i think.

Windows XP will eliminate this problem altogether by creating seperate user accounts. When your away from your system, just logoff. All your bros will see is the XP "Welcome" screen. As long as they don't know your password, they can't do any damage.

On the other hand if they get inside your machine and rearrange the hardware, that may force you to "reactivate" Windows.

The one that my dad used for his work was actually Windows Plus For Kids, you can password protect pretty much anything.

I don't know how accurate this is but when he went into Circuit City and asked the drone there what to do so he can restrict certain parts of his PC from his employees the drone said this would be the best choice. So anyway there is probably much better options out there but my dad was content with this set-up.
