Wink Oops

I think Gameboy beat me to the news of the Edge. Check out his post on the "New Visors" tread.

Or maybe Yahoo magazine will publish another article.

Thumbs up All-metal case, OS 3.5, piggyback SB adapter . . .

There's more info in a this new PDABuzz article. Looks like an April or May release. Sounds exciting.

Well that answers some burning questions of mine. It's good to see Handspring isn't going the m100 route.

Wink

Are they going to get sued by U2's lead guitarist for ripping off his name?

That's hardly far fetched. U2 was notorious for suing and virtually bankrupting Negativland for releasing an album titled "U2" when the former was at the peak of its popularity, after The Joshua Tree. That's when I stopped buying U2 albums.

Talking Speculations

Okay, so we have:
1.Visor Edge
2.Visor Snap
3.Visor Twist

The Visor Edge is suppose to be the new slim metal Handspring. The Snap is probably the piggy-back sled device for springboard attachments.

What the hell is the Visor Twist?!?! Any speculations?

Visor Twist...

Maybe the Visor Twist is a visor with 2 (possibly 3!??)springboard slots... hey, I'm sure they could fit another slot on there somehow. That would really kick, with an mp3 player in one end, and a wireless module in the other... or an eyemodule. That would really make the visor line customisable. Hey look, I can take your picture and send it off wirelessly via email in just a few seconds.

Any other ideas?

How about a cable (that twists) that extends the module connector? It would be good for heavy modules that might tip a Stowaway, cases that require you to remove them to change modules, or even for wireless stuff that causes RF interference.

I like that idea! I was wondering how well the Edge would work in a Stowaway if it had to have a sled and module in it.

Twist may be a serial cable converter/adaptor (just my 2 cents)

Isn't that what cptncelchu said, or did you mean something different?

Now all we need is an Arnold Schwarzenegger movie called "The Edge" .

Talking I think you've all missed an important point here....

As neat as the idea of some new form-factored Visor is, you're all missing one critical point that affects us Visor Dlx'ers.

New top-of-the-line models means a lowering in price on the PRISM!

I personally love my Deluxe, can't currently justify upgrading to a Prism, and couldn't give a fig about metal-cased slimline, add-a-springboard slot later new form factor visors. But if they drive a prism's price down, I'm going to be a HAPPY Visor owner.

I was thinking about that too and I think the new color Palm505 will also have this impact. If they lower the price enough I'll definitely be getting a Prism.
