Question fax software for visorphone

Anybody know an application that can use VisorPhone as a fax?

Handspring claims that the VisorPhone supports Class 1 fax only. I've found several apps for Class 2 and 2.0 and only one for Class 1; InStep Fax Add-on.

However, I can't seem to get the Demo to recognize my VisorPhone as my modem. I may be doing something wrong or InStep does not work with VisorPhone.

The Fax software available at www.markspace.com only supports class 2 Fax modems, but their website claims that they are working on Class 1 support. Maybe you could Email them and find out the status of the upgrade? I use the software and it is quite nice.

well, ive used instepfax with my digital link, no problem. the only setting i had to chage was in modem preferences advanced, idle time out from 60 to 90 seconds. It did recognize my device right away. hope this helps.

thanks, roc459868!

I have tried InStepPrint with InStepFax demos. Unfortunately, the SIM I had was not data enabled. I'm thinking of buying a better SIM/service soon.

A few questions:

1) How long does it normally take you to fax a page of text?
2) Did you use a VisorPhone?
3) What document editor/viewer were you using? QuickOffice? DocsToGo? Other?

I've got the sprint digital link, with a visor pro. instep fax works well with it. I've sent word documents( wordsmith), and excel word sheets. ( documents to go, and tiny sheet). Infact i've been able to send memos as well. Normal send time is about 3 mins. It varies according to the size of the document. I don't know if it will work on visor phone(gsm vs. pcs) bit i haved had no problem with it on the sprint network. It did recognized my digital link as a modem. Ithink the best thing is to sign up with sprint, and get the digital link. If you have anymore questions, let me know.
