I've also noticed that the transfer speed is slow (slower than CF filemover from Kopsis, which in turn is slower than HS memory module). Also, it seems like the transfer rate was too slow for gMovie at times, causing pauses, skips, or early re-starts in some of my movies (or maybe this was the result of a problem in the conversion s/w)

Ah, you may try to run the movies from internal RAM, so you can compare the transfer rate for RAM and SmartMedia.

Thanks for the reference to cheap smartmedia! Best Buy was $120 and Ebay was $75-$80 except for one guy at $58+6.

I finally got it after waiting a couple of days after ordering the MemPlug. No Problems.

Card Readers???

I just got my 64 meg card and it works great. I really do love this module. I have already filled 15 mgs of space.

Has anyone had any experience with any readers, USB or otherwise? Which one would you recommend?

Thanks,
Jason

I've owned Lexar & SanDisk readers. The SanDisk is kida large but it sits on the desk better & is always reliable, very Win2k friendly also. The Lexar was horrible that I owned, it would often corrupt files or the entire card.

Another board member, EricG, has said that his Lexar reader works fine - I believe its a CompactFlash/SmartMedia combo unit though. I've also heard good things about the Zio.

I use Zio and it's very small. It's working fine.

i'm interested in the memplug, but concerned about the size.

i use the rhinoskin t slider case which has little to no room to spare for oversized modules.

can someone please tell me if they think the memplug could be used with the t slider case?

thanks in advance.

Angry backordered to 4/25 now

they had a ship date of 4/16. 4/16 came around and now it's changed to 4/25. how much do you want to bet that palmgear changes the date once again. memplug should get them out before the nxist is released. if they don't, i will have to cancel my order.

It is way too early for them to run into back-order problems with their modules. I think they will change the date yet again.

well, you're right. My back order date was 4/25. Now it seems to be 4/26, palmgear was nice enough to inform me of this fact. But I am patient. . .

Why wait for backorder, I'll sell mine today!

I apologize if this is an inappropriate reply (outside of the forsale group).

I am selling my memplug for $45 including priority shipping. It's brand new (2 weeks), and works great, just not what I was looking for. I need something I can access directly from the module without having to move it back and forth.

I'll even include the 32 mb card I bought for another $40.
