Angry Huh?

Ok I have the Visor Phone hooked up with data service...it's been working fine for about a month now...hooray!! right?

Wrong.

Now when I try to dial into the isp i get a "authentication failure" or "no carrier" or "ppp timeout" error . I get this with a few different isps, and I have not changed any settings....

I wonder does the data service form wireless providers sometimes go down? (like the regular web) ....or does the Visor Phone just work for a month then konk out?

help...please

If you search the forums, I think you'll find a couple of other people have had the same problem, and in their cases, it was down to a fault with the carrier, that caused data calls to drop or not be connected in the first place.

Have you checked with them?

I had the same thing happen, for no apparent reason, last fall with my VisorPhone. Still not sure why it happened but basically Cingular had deactivated my Cingular Data option (2.99 a month), but it hadn't been removed from my bill. Very odd situation with three aspects:

1) I was being billed for Cingular Data
2) I was not able to actually use Cingular Data (meaning, dial up an ISP)
3) Customer service was not able, by themselves to re-add or reactivate the Cingular Data option to my service (because, ostensibly, I already had it, according to my account).

(Just so everyone reading this understands, Cingular Data is the option that enables you to dial up to an ISP without using Cingular's own web access option, called Wireless Internet or something like that.)

We wound up having to get Technical Support to fix things for me. I'm guessing in Toronto you don't have Cingular, but maybe this is something that happens with other carriers too. Who is yours?
