Hi Alastair, glad you are enjoying your Visor.
I too have a Visor in the UK (Edinburgh), and a siemens S25 (on vodafone), and have them talking to each other quite well.
The siemens S25 is a good phone, and is very cheap at the moment as it is obsolete (new siemens S35i) It got a panning because the wap browser is out of date and non-functional, but in fact you don't need it anyway if you have a Visor.
The 7110 is very flash, but why pay more for a phone with a bigger LCD, when you already have a big LCD???
I am sure it would work though.
The only extra software that you need is:
1. IrLink from www.ISComplete.org - without this you can't get the visor to talk to the phone
2. wap browser client from www.mobileid.com
3. possibly avantgo client from www.avantgo.com (avantgo allows offline web browsing, similar to email collection - It also allows online browsing)
You might also want to get GSMtool which lets you synchronise address books, and compose SMS messages on the Visor.
I actually use this rather than any email client, as with vodafone I can SMS to an email address, or receive email (subject only) as an SMS.
If you go with Vodaphone, read their helpfiles on the website, as they describe how to set up to use their own ISP and do ISDN dialling to make a digital connection. Connects in 2 seconds, as the modem doesn't need to train etc.
Also you can steal the config info from their 7110 setup guide to configure the mobileID WAP browser to point to the vodafone WAP homepage. Let me know if you want more info on this.
I have all this set up, but don't really use it much - nice to know I could, though.
Regards
