I currently use a Casio EM-500 PPC but I am in the market for a PalmOS device. I need better size, better PIM apps, screen protection, and better battery life. The Edge seems to fit the bill though I will probably wait to see how the Palm m50x series compares. Questions about the new Edge I have:
1. How is the screen inside in different lightning conditions and how is it outside? (I work outside in bright sun a lot)
2. How is the battery life of the rechargable battery in the Edge?
3. Is the stylus holder solid? I can't really tell from the pictures I have seen. Couple of people noted "rattling"?
4. What is Enhanced Datebook? How does it compare to the normal Palm Datebook and apps like Action Names/Datebook4?
5. How likely is Handspring to drop pricing on the Edge to compete with new Palm units? Do they have any history of doing this? The new m505 priced at $449 is especially troublesome. Its almost hard to imagine not paying the extra $50 for flash ROM and color if one can live with the reduced battery life, or for the same price the m500 has built-in expansion and flash ROM. Seems will be tough for Handpsring to market the Edge at the same price point. I'd love the edge at $299-329.
Any feedback would be welcome.
