Unhappy Need Help w/ Prism Recharge Problem

Greetings,

I hope someone out there can help me with my Prism problem. All of a sudden, the charge light on the cradle will stop blinking as though the Prism is fully charged, but it's only at about 65%.

Soft resets don't seem to help. Has anyone seen this before? If so, please advise.

Thanks,
-cnegrad

Have you tried performing a soft reset while the Prism is in the cradle? If not, give that a try. It is supposed to reset the charging circut to help fix these kinds of problems. Good luck!

Talking Same problem here but it went away...

Is the unit new? If so, I had the same problem after the first two or three charges then it went away. It was like the unit took three times to build up the charge.

I have found the Prism has to slide in at the right angle to make a good connection. That may have attributed to my situation.

Thumbs up Listen to sdoersam...

...because he has the solution. I had the same issue with my Prism. When I called tech support at Handspring, they told me about the soft-reset-in-the-cradle trick. I've had the issue a couple more times, and this trick has always worked to fix it.

You guys are the best; your solution of soft resetting while in the cradle worked perfectly!

Thanks!

I have a variation on the same problem. When I use the battery plug, either with batteries or using the adapter from the charger/cradle from Handspring, sometimes I get a full charge but sometimes it stops at around 4.0 volts. A soft reset when charging will fix the problem, but having to do repeated soft resets is frustrating and I can never tell if my batteries (for the battery plug) are out or the prism needs a soft reset. I never have this problem when charging in the cradle. Any ideas or suggestions?
Thanks!
