Cool Way Cool!

I downloaded this app (and registered, it's shareware). It's simple to install and the graphic converters are easy to use. I have a Mac, so I downloaded Graphic Converter 4.0.4, which is also shareware. I did the "clouds" background, but the lack of contrast (two colors) makes it look "muddy." Pictures with lots of contrast and colors worked best. There are lots of sample backgrounds on their site.

Make sure to register, otherwise a small "NOT REGISTERED" banner appears across all images.

Nice find!

I cant get any of the screen capturing progs to work, they all put it in black and white and delete the background so I'll go ahead and take a picture with my Digital camera

i downloaded the greyscale version and it rocks! this is a pretty cool app, i'm surprised i haven't seen it before this!

one problem, i love the functionality i gain with silverscreen, and unfortunately this silverscreen overwrites and you can't see the background image.

i'll have to email support and find out if there's a workaround.

Lightbulb Looks great...

Okay Visor Guy2, what process did you use on this image? Mine looked like mud...More contrast? I did a greyscale version that looks good, but I want blue sky...

Any help would be appreciated!

Well, I dunno.

I used Fireconverter, and converted a small chunk (approx 500x700 pixels) of the clouds picture and shrunk it to 160x160. Then I installed it. I don't know why yours might look bad. Maybe the Mac converter program isn't as good?

Question Registering?

How did you folks manage to register this? When I click on 'buy' at Palmgear.com, I get redirected to the list of Twilight Edge stuff you can buy (http://store.yahoo.com/pilotgearsw/twiledsof.html).

It only lists Backdrop & Backdrop EZ - not the new GC version. Will the reg. code from buying one of these do the trick?

Thanks!

Lightbulb Okay...

Cheesehead,

That's the link to register:

http://store.yahoo.com/pilotgearsw/twiledsof.html

Be sure to scroll down. GC is on the lower half of the page. I was on a different page. Looks like they had some outdated links.

Cool

Thanks for the link, and getting them to update the page! Time to drop $18 for some frivolous software...

You say that like it's a bad thing...

Also for those of us using the "other" OS (aka Macs), the default for the graphic converter software is greyscale. While saving the image, click the "Options" button and select "256 colors".

No wonder all my pictures looked like mud...

Gag! $18?! Does the author think this is useful software? It's not nearly cool enough to cost $18. That's ridiculous. I would consider it if it was the same caliber as Zap! 2016, but geez.

Agreed! or should I say, A-Greed. $18 is way too much. After seeing that price, I didn't even bother to follow up.

I disagree. It's very cool, and I am the envy of my office. I can start showing off the color capability of my Prism for things other than games...

actually, i've been a little swamped at work so I haven't had time to email either developer (backdrop or silverscreen). I agree it would be a COOL feature if it was implemented into Silverscreen.

I'll be travelling this weekend (leaving straight from work tonight) so i won't be able to email until monday. Perhaps somebody could email instead?

Thanks.
