Question

I've been wondering something for some time now, and wasn't sure where to get the answer (Xircom makes you give them a ton of demographic info to talk to them - no thanks).

does anyone know if a stowaway keyboard can be used at the same time as the Xircom Springport 56K (or any other modems for that matter)? I ask this because I'm highly anticipating the wired ethernet module, and haveing a wearable telnet client would be oh so Very Cool (tm). I'd imagine the technologies for interfacing with palmOS would be similar, since it's all just data after the springboard level.

the real question is: can you have multiple serial connections at once with palmos or for that matter, can palm os talk to the serial port while being online?

i know that you can't, for instance, use IR while the keyboard is in use, as the IR port uses the standard serial port of the visor.

hopefully, they'll find some way to make it feasable, but I still have my doubts.

Without a doubt for the Springport. I've even used it to post to my message board on my website.

I'm waiting more for the wireless ethernet module, but that would be acceptable as well.

Doubt no more, the springboard slot works just fine even when using a Stowaway.

Cool

No problemo. I've used the Springport modem and my Stowaway to do email numerous times.

yeah, i'd love wireless... but that means getting into a whole wireless system. plus, there're ethernet jacks everywhere on campus so that would improve my range greatly vs having to deal with the 150ft or so wireless provides.
