The Prism will actually cost more than some Pocket PC devices. Amazon.com is selling the HP Jornada 540 for $399. I think Handspring is going to have a hell of a time trying to sell this device. With a tiny screen (I'm assuming Handspring is going to move in the direction of the Palm M100 and Sony Clie by shrinking the display down in size) and no built-in MP3 playback, it's going to get trounced by the likes of iPAQ and Jornada. Also the ZDNET article mentions that the Prism will be thicker than the current Visor. That means it will likely be somewhat bulkier than an iPAQ. Consumers aren't going to want an overpriced, bulky and limited function Palm device. Palm tried this with the IIIc and they failed miserably.
