Exclamation

I just ordered my visor delux, and then I came here and found out about a color one was about to be realeased. I was pissed about it since the ecompany didnt let me know about it before I go my delux. Anyways, I sent them an E-mail complaining and here is what they replied:

Several publications have published information regarding future productannouncements from Handspring. It is Handspring's policy not to comment on products before official announcements. Handspring is acknowledging
that a product announcement for the Color Visor will occur before the end of October. This announcement will contain details on the product nnd availability.

Lightbulb cancel

Cancel the order if you want to wait for the color. There was a place on Handspring's site to do that and I did it back in June when I ordered the wrong cradle. And it was a couple of days after the order was placed. I believe it's part of the page where you can check on the status of an order.

Unhappy

I emailed HandSpring customer support about possible advance orders of the Prism, was told no advance orders were being accepted.

I don't know I'm having a hard time with the HandSprings estimated price on the Prism. $450 puts it into PPC territory and for that price I might as well buy the PPC.

The Prism will actually cost more than some Pocket PC devices. Amazon.com is selling the HP Jornada 540 for $399. I think Handspring is going to have a hell of a time trying to sell this device. With a tiny screen (I'm assuming Handspring is going to move in the direction of the Palm M100 and Sony Clie by shrinking the display down in size) and no built-in MP3 playback, it's going to get trounced by the likes of iPAQ and Jornada. Also the ZDNET article mentions that the Prism will be thicker than the current Visor. That means it will likely be somewhat bulkier than an iPAQ. Consumers aren't going to want an overpriced, bulky and limited function Palm device. Palm tried this with the IIIc and they failed miserably.

The proper form is actually:
"Mais seulement pour les personnes qui parlent en francais."

Cool

Your French language education reminds me of Monty Python's Life of Brian when Cleese gives Graham a Latin education.

The HandSpring Prism might have Springboard module capabilities which suggests that users could still be able to use VisorPhone (or PrismPhone?), MiniJam, EyeModule, etc.. with it and that would place Prism way over the capabilities of all the other PDAs.

Let's not quibble over whether or not there will be any of these features onboard.

What I would like to see is a Eyemodule with flash for taking pictures in dimly lit areas.

And if HandSpring is not releasing info on the Prism until later this month, does that mean we will not be able to buy it before late November or early December (remembering that the VisorPhone info is available now and the product might not be available til mid November) ?

Thanks.

whosaid?
