Unhappy Static killed my Prism!? Help!

Hi,
I am sad to report that I may be guilty of killing a Visor Prism. I went to take it out of its hot-cradle, and a static charge zapped me and my Prism! It then turn on like normal, but when I went start any app, it just went to the menu and asked if I wanted to delete it, info, etc.

So I tried a few soft resets, then a few hard ones. When I do a hard reset, I get the normal start screen, then it goes into the digitizer calibration, where I click on the X's. I click on the one on the upper left, it makes a noise acknowledging the click, then I click on the new X on the lower right, again it is happy, but then goes back up to the first, as if I clicked on a bad region.

Up to now, the screen worked great (no dead pixels), and the digitizer was fine.

Help! Is it dead? Can it be saved? I'm going to try to let the battery die down, and see what happens when it recharges.

Thanks for any help or suggestions
Mark

Talking It came back!

Ok, here is the solution that worked for me:

1. Let the battery discharge by keeping the Prism on, putting in a power-hungry module like the GPS unit, etc.

2. Once the battery was dead, I let it sit overnight.

3. I then took the thing apart, and disconnected the battery.

4. I let it sit overnight again.

5. I put it all back together, then put it in the charging cradle, with the cables all plugged in.

6. I did an in-cradle reset (a soft reset with the Visor in the cradle, supposedly this helps sometimes) and the thing started! I was able to get past the start screens, and have just finished restoring everything using PiBackup II.

I will now go get some anti-static stuff, and be more careful in the future.
