Whoops, sorry rpspeko and Theo, forgot to read the second page of the discussion there. Well, I'd rather be one a a select crowd of very few than one of a kind, I guess, that way I get to still feel all special and all, but there are some people out there I can talk to who also love to stand out enough to buy themselves a green PDA. Put me down on that list for one green, handsprung, only one for two posts now.

I don't know guys, I ordered blue. I think that the blue one is conservative enough for business. Orange....no. Green...maybe. Ice...maybe. And, in my opinion, they kind of screwed up with the graphite. It's a lot blacker that it looks. If it were a greyer shade, maybe. But as for me, BLUE is the only way to go. (Don't count this in the vote totals, you already counted me)

I ordered the blue, I like the transparent aspect and most of my stuff is blue anyways, my 6190 has a clear blue cover and my antenna lights up blue when used, thought it might match.

Make that blue 28 I ordered mine about a week ago. They said they would be shipping from mid to end October and assured me that the current orders do not put them in a backorder status but I did not ask about individual color backlogs.

I just ordered a blue one. I'm confused, is the back black or clear? I think I've heard it both ways. I would have ordered green if it was a bit darker.

From the pictures I have seen, it appears as if the backs are clear/ice color. I know none of the pictures show the back in great detail, but thats just my interpretation.

Question

In the way too much time vein, I wonder if we could correlate color choice with age of the user? I'd be willing to bet there is a strong one.

BTW the adevans listed as ordering a graphite deluxe should be odevans, thanks for keeping tabs for us handsprung!

Cool

The Message Thread That Would Not Die!!!
Alright then, if we're going to correlate age with color purchased, here are my stats:

Color chosen: Blue (already tabulated)
Age: 24

Keep in mind that I want to see a pie chart
as the end product, or else this poll has no validity.

Blue. Definitely blue. Air Force blue flies high over all others!

BTW, I just got off of the phone ordering my Visor, and the rep said that the back will not be ice, contrary to the pics and previous posts. He says that the backs will be a solid color (as in non-see through) and that it is also blue.

He also didn't seem to know when they would ship, (mid-late Oct.) and he PROMISED (!) that they will have plenty (in all colors) to ship to meet orders, and that there will be no back orders.

Hmmmm.

Okay... Age and color stats...

35 - Black
42 - Blue

Wouldn't you HATE to be the UPS guy visiting Handspring on the 15th? After months of bits and pieces of deliveries, there's a loading dock FULL of Visors.

Just giving my age 28 (29 by the time I get my green one... unless they ship today)

(wonder if that will start a rumor)

Talking

Ha! Someone get Handsprung his Visor quickly.
He needs SOMETHING to keep himself busy...

But seriously... you get extra credit for creative use of colors.

Wow! I called Handspring today to order a graphite Visor Deluxe and the female receptionist asked me if I'd be interested in a special limited edition colour! (Man, did she ever sound cute. I was going to ask for her e-mail address but didn't want to sound desperate. Doh!)

The special colour is a solid brown! She told me that they had a problem with the colouring process for the graphite models resulting in some of them coming out brown. Interestingly enough, even the cradle came out brown so everything will match. I was so completely awe-struck that I was left speechless, and I began to hyperventilate and slur my speech. I had to drink a glass of water just to compose myself. (Unfortunately I think I made a bad impression on her - I doubt she'd ever want to chat with me on the net. Who knows though? It felt like some kind of positive vibe was going on between us, and she did seem to make quite an effort to make sure she got the correct e-mail address. Hmmm.)

Anyway, I ordered it right away! I can't understand why brown went out of style. I still have a beautiful dark brown calculator from the 80s which works great. Damn, I'm excited! Oh yeah... I don't think there are any browns left though, so you guys completely missed out! lol (Sorry, I have to brag a bit.)

Later!
-Tears in Rain

PS: Mark me down for brown, baby!

No iMac wanna-be here. (Mac users can flame me all they want) Gimme a graphite. I do wish they had solid colors though, such as a navy, red, or silver - not the translucent type. I'm 21 and a student at Stanford, and the translucent colors seemy too trendy. I'm also a PC user and can't stand the iMac look, though the new G4s look pretty good. I want to be able to pull this thing out in class and not have everybody turn their head and say "What's that?" I'll be graduating and I can't see myself pulling out a bright orange PDA at a board meeting with a straight face.
