Solar powered Xircom Springport module

Has any body tried the solar battery advertised by Smarthome for the StarTac cell phone? http://www.smarthome.com/9605.html

The Springport module's battery pack is fashioned after the StarTac battery. This solar battery is advertised to charge to 90% of its power capacity in 4 or 5 hours of sunlight! I am leery of dropping $50 on a battery that may run down faster than AAA's just because it is solar charged.
