Black screen of death? (Dropped Platinum)

I remember dropping my Visor Platinum a couple of weeks ago... Since then, the screen hasn't been working properly. *sniff*

If I squeeze together the left side of the case (i.e., thumb on front left, fingers on back) just right, I can get the screen to show everything properly. But as soon as I let go, the screen becomes completely black.

I've disassembled the case, reseated the ribbon for the screen, but that has not helped at all.

With the front of the case, I can adjust the screen slightly (mostly by pushing it to the lower left a little bit) and that will also make it work...and that's sort of the same action as when I squeeze the left side. What's along there that could be affecting the screen?

Are there any other things I should try?
