I'm with you. I synch both at home on my Mac and at work on NT. I've been using AvantGo on NT and find it very useful--good web updates with a fairly small memory footprint. I'm glad they've finally gotten around to porting it to MacOS.

I only hope other Palm software developers follow suit. The numbers of the Mac faithful are on the rise these days!

I too am glad that Avant Go decided to make a program for the mac. I remember when they themselves on their website were offering the code to those who wanted to make the program.

Miami91:
I just ordered my VSD and also have Windows NT at work and a Mac at home. What did you have to do to set up the sync software...was it a hassle? Do you sync with Outlook at work? Do you have to get Intellilink? Do you use USB on your Mac? I just ordered a USB connector for my G3 from Belkin. Thanks for your help.

Letch,

I assume that you are referring to the Palm HotSync software, not to AvantGo. The HotSync software is very easy to install on both platforms, although you will need Admin rights on Windows NT to install it. As far as AvantGo is concerned, the installation is done via the web, and then automatically downloads web updates for your preselected "channels" when you do a hotsync.

Yes, I do sync to Outlook at work. This connection happens automatically when you install the Handspring/Palm HotSync software. The installer detects the presence of Outlook, asks whether you want to sync to Outlook or to Palm Desktop, and takes care of the rest! And as for your final question, I am not presently using USB on my mac. I have a PowerMac 9600 with a 604e processor, so USB was not on-board. I have thought about buying a PCI card myself, and probably will, but haven't gotten around to it yet. So I purchased an extra serial cradle--one for work (NT doesn't support USB) and one for home.

Good luck to you.

Ludo: How is it available now? I checked avantgo.com and all they had was a sign up form for notification when the software is released, and a form for applying to beta test it. But there was nothing to download or anything. They just said they would contact me if I was selected as a beta tester. Did u find it somewhere else?
