I was really suprised at how inexpensive the processors are for our Palms! If these are the new enhanced models, imagine how cheap ours are.Pricing and Availability

Samples and production volumes of both the 16MHz and 20 MHz DragonBall EZ are available now at suggested list prices of $8.50 and $10.00 (USD) in 10,000 unit quantities, respectively

It makes sense though...in my (fairly high end) computer the processors account for less than 10% of the cost. The video card/hard drives are the most expensive parts. I bet the biggest cost for the Palm is the screen, then the DRAM. Anyone know for sure?

[you do need to take into account all of the manufacturing and sales costs...the actual chip in most $250+ video cards costs about $40, and that has ALL of the logic on it in most cases]
