Lightbulb Solar charger

Hey, there's a review of a nifty looking solar charger over at PalmInfocenter.com
Produces 5V, 400mA. Folds up to something that looks only a little bit longer than an Edge. The reviewer only used it on an M505, but I'm sure with a little bit of clever hacking it could be adapted.

The people that make the solar cells are at http://www.plastecs.com/. Their website only lists Palm units that they're compatible with, but they say they can easily adapt it to others.

I think I'm tempted...

I actually thought the exact same thing. And IF I go backpacking in August.. I might get me one of those for reviewing unluckily though the Prism draw 1.5AMPS! to charge. This only supplies like 1/4 of that so it will be a slow charge. It has the voltage though .coolio!

wow, that's a pretty big honking current draw. are you sure you're not looking at the battery capacity (1500 mAh maybe?). must charge up the battery pretty quick if it draws 1500 mA.
In the review, it only took a little over an hour to recharge an M505. Even at 400 mA, it probably wouldn't take much longer to charge up a Prism. What's the mAh on the Prism battery?

My Prism doesn't like to charge on anything below 5.5v. Doubt it will
work with a Prism.

there was another charger mentioned in the review that provided 7V at 250 mA or something like that. According to the review, this one worked better for charging the M50x series.

That would probably work.
