Blazer Wrkng GREAT, but, about e-mail...

Thanks to ALL the posters who spent time documenting the method for accessing T-Mobile's website for free, only took me 10 minutes of fiddling, and I can connect now EVERYTIME. HOWEVER, my mail server is COMCAST.NET. And even thou they have recently added a web site to allow "remote access" for reading/composing mail with out being on your own PC, the site is not "Friendly" to the BLAZER op system, nor is www.mail2web.com.

Guru advice needed. How can I access my e-mail, now that I can connect to the web? AND, is there anyway I can get my e-mails to "automatically" be sent to my VisorPhone thru T-Mobile, so that I get alerted each time I receive mail. (from a selected list of addresses...........)

ALSO, off topic kind of. I'm now sending back my VisorPhone for the THIRD time because the earphone jack is no longer working. I know I've stressed the cords, which isn't very good for the jack (head set gets caught on door, car handle, etc., and pulls tight)

Has anyone else had this problem? Is anyone using a "tension-control" coupler or some other device that would "give" a little before the cord pulls hard on the jack?

Have you tried Eudora Internet Suite for PalmOS? It allows you to set up authenticated POP3 and SMTP. It will also do SSL for these connections and use alternate ports. As far as being notified on your VisorPhone, you would have to setup some time of filter to forward to your SMS e-mail address. Check with ComCast to see if they can do it on their server. Otherwise you will have to use another program on your PC to send the notifications.

Blazer/E-Mail/POP3/WEB

Thanks for all the input. Think I've figured out a "half-assed" way to get my email while on the road.

I set my Comcast POP3 to fwd SELECTED e-mail (using RULES) to my VisorPhone ([email protected]) so that while my laptop is at home and connected via the cable modem, I'll know whenver Iget an e-mail from someone is in my RULES group.

When I travel, which means disconnecting the laptop from the cable modem, thereby not "receiving" my mail from the Comcast POP3 server every minute, I use ANOTHER PC in my house (desktop) to receive my Comcast mail, and at the same time FORWARD all of it to YAHOO, so that if I need to actually retrieve a file or something, I can access YAHOO on my laptop, and there the FORWARDED email will sit. (I also have to set up the same FORWARDING RULES to the VisorPhone on this PC) Which THEN means checking and managing TWO e-mail accounts.

I thought computers were supposed to make stuff EASIER!

Damn, this is getting bad, I gotta re-think this....................
