Like I said, whether or not I receive first, I get an error message on sending mail. How should Eudora be set up?

If your going thru yahoo, use pop.mail.yahoo.com as
you pop server, use smtp.mail.yahoo.com as the smtp
server. Make sure your email address is the same
as your yahoo email adress, else it will reject your
attempt to send mail. After that just receive first,
then send. I use Multimail, and this works fine.

If Im remembering this correctly, this is how I used to sign on using AT&T with the same set-up you have. Check your AT&T Worldnet folder. It should contain a text file called ACCOUNT. In it you will see your current user name and password. You should also see a different logon name and password somewhere in the ACCOUNT file. Use the alternate user name and password for logging on through sprint. Good Luck
