Thumbs up Five Stars!

It looks wonderful and works great! Thanks for a real improvement, Marcus.

This site just gets better and better and is my very best Visor-source of information, help and fun, too!!

(I think that spell checker is especially for me! <g> )

Marcus,

This looks a lot like it did when VC was running the UBB software. Is VBulletin their new product?? I like it. I really missed the "burning folders" and such.

Keep up the good work.

VC ROCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Question

could it be that the search function doesn't work anymore? When I look for posts with my username I get a "Sorry - No Matches" messages.

Where are attachments stored? Are they kept on the VC server?

It is still the vbulletin, a product from Jelsoft. UBB has a new version out, but it is not really that good compared to vbulletin 2.0.

The burning folders has been there all along... Or did other people miss them in the old version too?

We are looking into the search by name function. Normal searching should work though.

Yep, attachments are stored locally.

I think the new version is a nice incremental improvement over the previous version. The avatar feature is kinda neat.

On the whole, it's a great improvement. But I'm not sure I like the way that the "new discussion threads" view is now regenerated every time I return to the list. It used to be that returning to the list via my browser's back button presented me with the same list as I last saw, but now when I return to the list it gets dynamically rebuilt every time. This not only means an unnecessary wait every time, but can also mean that threads get missed because they pop up to the top of the list after you have already scrolled down.

Oh, and the Post Reply text entry window is now wider than my browser window, so I need to scroll left and right in order to see the entire window. What's up with that?

Question Seems i'm behind again... =P

Whats Avatar? I saw the "testing" post, what does it do? =)
BTW, Great work guys, love this board, the only thing I don't like about the upgrading is that the 'submit' 'preview', and 'spell check' are moved to the left....I kinda like it in the middle... =P Maybe i'm jus not used to it yet. =)

Avatar is in image/icon that you can place under your name on the left hand side. To upload an avatar, go the profile section.

I fixed the Submit buttons - they are now centered.

Question New threads in AvantGo

I have a custom AvantGo chanel set up to get the new threads page. It no longer works today. I presume the URL for the new threads has changed with the upgrade. Does the URL change each time you go to the new threads list? Is it still possible to set up a custom Chanel? I sure would miss this if it cannot be done. Actually, I was hoping we would eventually be able to post from Avantgo like you can with palminfocenter.

Where the hell Am i?

Like the new look, but the Jump To drop down no longer tells you what section you are in. This is what I use to move around and I already miss it.

The Spell checker crashed my netscape. I had to re-type the above. Has anyone use the DSLReports message boards? I like the way they do spell checking, if nothing else.

Woo Hoo 300 posts. I'll be at 1000 in no time.:-)

Search Not Fully Working?

Search does not appear to be working properly. The first page of results seems to work OK but when I attempt to access the results under Discussion it take me out to a blank page - the result was the same when searching under a variety of topics.

Hope it's fixed soon. Thanks

They're still left-justified on my Nutscrape 4.7

Marcus,

Any way you can add the page jumps to the top of the page like they were in the old version? I hate having to scroll to the bottom to jump to page 5 of a thread.
Thanks

>> the Jump To drop down no longer tells you what section you are in

It tells you which forum you are in, as example, right now it says "VisorCentral.com"

>> Search does not appear to be working properly

There are confirmed issues with the search engine that will be resolved shortly.

>> They're still left-justified on my Nutscrape 4.7

Will look at it.

>> Any way you can add the page jumps to the top of the page like they were in the old version?

We had page jumps at the top in the old version? I will try to fit that in. [added]

Let me know what else you want on the boards, and I will get try to do it.
