Dang. Today I went to the store and looked at the Visor Edge and all I can say is OMG! There was a puddle of drool under my feet when I left. I am seriously contemplating getting one, these are the things I like about it
1. Thin thin thin!!!!
2. Fast lookup feature
3. THIN!!
4. Seems faster than the Visor Prism
5. It's really thin
6. I can still use my Modules
7. Did I say thin?
8. It has a 'super-fast' rechargeable battery
9. Nice thin form factor
10. It has the most beautiful Monochrome screen I have ever seen.
11. The Visor Edge (according to James' review) Is more comfortable with the Geode than any other visor. Is this true with the Minstrel S? Can anyone Post Pics of this Combo? I currently use a Visor Prism with the minstrel and it is too big for daily use. Yes I would be giving up color but for something that small I DON'T CARE!!! Any input or pictures for me to drool at? Thanks

Ok, I'll bite.
By chance, I was in a CompUSA the other day, kind of showing a newbie about the PDA choices, etc. And we were going down the line ... and when we got to the Edge, I almost gasped!
I had seen it on day 1, of course ... but that's a while back, now.
And w/all the hubub about color, etc. -- I had kind of forgotten about it.
But, yeah, I started seriously thinking about BUYING ONE ON THE SPOT!\
Been thinking about upgrading, the free OmniSky modem (req. OS 3.5, etc.), etc. for a while now. I've never tried my EM2 on an Edge, tho, and maybe I should do that. Sure, there's the Prism (& Plat.), and I'd love the small color shots & movies.... What I really need is for HS to come out w/a color Edge -- that'd probably seal it for me. And PLEEEEEEEEEEZZZZZZE don't kill us on the price! UNDERCUT EVERYBODY, HS!!! We'll love ya, for it. Yeah, we already love ya, but we'll double-love ya!!!
Then I can just pass a family member my VDX.
The choice would be such an easy no-brainer if the VDX wasn't such a piece of gold itself....

Only thing holding me back right now is the lack of Stowaway support. Anyone have any news on when that may happen?

Coming in the fall?

I've heard it's coming in the fall, but I don't think there's been anything official announced yet.

The people I've emailed have no idea when the stowaway is to be released. I got the impression it wasn't high on the priority list right now. I'm fine for the summer, but I'll need it for classes next fall.

Would it really be that hard to make and adaptor? I mean nothing as changed except for 4 passthrous on the right side of the connector.

No, it should be very trivial. The biggest hurdle that I could think of would be getting the parts (specifically, a female connector for the VDx and a male connector for the Edge).

Visor Guy -

Thanks for the photos....

Do you find the Edge to be top heavy with a Modem or some of the larger modules attached to it?

Yea It's a little top-heavy and odd to hold, but It's not that Bad. I don't really own any larger modules except the EyeModule so I can't tell you otherwise. I personally Think the Edge/Omnisky is the Best Combo for me. I hardly ever get any crashes and The reception is better than ever. It's fast too. I'm scared of updating to REV C. I don't think I will cuz "If it ain't broke don't fix it" Oh well.

I'm a bit late on this BUT..

The Edge stowaway will hopefully come in August. It takes a long time to manufactor parts and design the plastic molds, seriously. ALSO, they have been tryign to get the Clie version out.. so.. I do not work for them (duh!) just I talk to lots of people..
