They have updated the information on their site, and give more details about their location-based services. They also have a product data sheet and brochure posted.

OH YEAH!
I have been waiting for this since I first learned about GeoDiscovery. Joe Free if you're listening, I hope you remember me! (I was one of the very first people to sign up for beta testing - please please please pick me!)

Just from reading the product info I know that this GPS springboard is going to be the one to get.

I was just about to post this news as well...

www.geodiscovery.com

oh yeah, pick me too for the betaprogram!!

The product looks very promissing, even without the springboard. Too bad there are only US maps (right now, maybe more later?? hint hint )

The data sheet on the website did say that they would add International maps later on.

Question

I got an email this morning telling me about the new site, and that the beta program will start in the next couple weeks. Then I noticed at the bottom that is said my beta username and password will be sent soon. Did everyone get this email? Or am I one of the lucky beta-testers? I never got an official email from GeoDiscovery telling me I was choosen.......hummmmmmm

I too got the e-mail with the news of my pending username/password. Perhaps we were all chosen? Perhaps it was a form letter?

I'm excited!

Mine also mentioned that my beta username and password will be sent soon.

Maybe everyone who signed up for the beta testing received this particular email while the ones that only signed up for information received the one without.

Somehow I doubt that I am that lucky enough to be chosen.

PS - J(and a bunch of numbers), you don't happen to work at either Raytheon, Hughes, or TRW in El Segundo, do you?

I also got the username/password email. Unfortunately, if you read the "BetaTesters" page on GeoDiscovery's web site, they say "Initially, testing for the Geode GPS hardware will be limited (we just don't have enough hardware for the thousands of people who have signed up), but we want everyone to help us test and perfect both the Web-based and Palm-based software."

To me, that says that just about everyone who signs up to be a "betatester" will be able to check out their software on-line (via the login/password), but only about 4 of us are going to get to test the actual GPS springboard hardware. I'm bummed...I have a boatload of remote field work this summer that would really benefit from their unit (and put it to the test, esp. the WAAS!). Of course, I could be one of the lucky few, but don't think I'll hold my breath just yet. The software stuff should still be cool, though.
