Lightbulb first impressions on my Digital Link

I just bought a Sprint PCS Digital Link and I thought I'd give ppl my first impressions on it...

Activation could be a problem. The guy in the Sprint PCS store where I bought tried to activate it following the instructions on their intranet, but he couldn't get it to work. So he told me to call customer service b/c they would be better at it. The woman on the phone had the same instructions.
I figured out on the phone with her that their instructions are INCORRECT!!! They say that when you turn the Digital Link on for the first time it brings up the activation screen, but it doesn't.

In order to enter the codes for activation you need to go to the Options menu in the phone program and choose Activation.
(that item disappears once you have activated your phone).

The digital link has forced me to soft reset my visor deluxe several times. So I am keeping my Backup module handy in case I end up having to do a hard reset. Sometimes though it locks up for a couple of seconds and then goes back to normal, so be cautious when deciding to do a reset. The Digital Link also seems to mess around with the contrast control on my Visor.

If you follow the directions in the book about setting up the Wireless Web/Data connection you should get online with no problem. Blazer 2.0 works well on my Deluxe, but I can't seem to get AIM working. If you use Yahoo! for email, be very careful. Each time I go to Yahoo mail via the Sprint PCS Web Portals button all my inbox messages get moved to the trash. I haven't figured that one out yet.

If anyone has any questions about the Sprint PCS Digital Link, please reply to this post and I will try to answer them.

Just my 2 cents worth,
Paul
