The camel is paraplegic.

I dropped the platinum 2 feet. Of course the screen had to break. I'm ebaying everything (I'll link in marketplace again), and have bought an m500. Although I miss DateBook+, I am rather surprised at the features implemented in OS 4. I'm using half the hacks now. Add in a free 16MB SD card and you can't go wrong.

That, my friend, depends entirely of my impression of the cli. I would not be oppose to keeping the m500. Given its quality, I will be a very harsh critic of the edge. It's everything the edge should have been from the get-go.

Not to mention that its IR is the most powerful ever built into a PalmOS device. It'll be interesting to see how the 415 compares - Pacificneotek (of OmniRemote fame) has it measured effective at 50 ft. All I know is that this is the first device able to control my VCR - not even an honest-to-God replacement remote had been able to do that.

You're telling me. I'm getting insurance on the damn thing. The guys at work aren't letting it slide, either. I left it on the workbench when I went in the back to get something and they "put it up for my own good."

I know I may have missed this, but what happened to your Edge?

Sorry if you have explained this already, but I have been in Ireland for a week and I am somewhat behind.

After 6 or 7 - possibly more, I can't remember - crap replacements, I ebayed it with a travel charger, pen stylus etc. Rather irritating that I only got $250 for it, but that's the way the ball bounces.

It's all good. I'm usually only a prick on Wednesdays. 13 hours solid with an hour lunch break between school and work would make anyone cranky. How's Ireland?

Remind me why the edge didn't do it for you. I'll do my damnedest to talk you into an m500.

QC, and, I hate to admit it, the sled to. I'm pretty much addicted to the CF adapter I've got in the prism...

It wouldn't take much to talk me into an m500, except that I've got $$ dropped into the kb and several modules for the Prism and don't think that after an ebay fest I'd break even with the upgrade...

..truth be told, I'd swap the prism for a pro in a heartbeat!

Let me know where you get it. I recently got a Prism and wanted to get insurance and drop it on my other units, but PDAsLostorStolen sent me this reply.

Unfortunately, the insurance company supporting this program, The Signal, has temporarily closed it to new devices. While all devices in the program remain covered, our customers cannot add a previously uninsured product to their policy. This is only a temporary halt as both the program itself and the website are being amended. We will notify you via email when customers
can again add to their policy.

If you no longer wish to carry coverage for the device currently on your account, please let us know and we will cancel it for you.

Thank you,

PDAsLostorStolen.com

Isn't that nifty?

Well, here I go.
I don't know how much room you need, but you get a 16MB SD card for free with a m50x or m125 (without having to put any money down - send in UPC, receipt, and rebate form from Palm's site and then wait).

Sprinboard modules - you'd be SOL. But you're not going to break when you do decide to upgrade. In fact, you stand a better chance of getting closer to what you paid by ditching now.

It's the edge with QC and no sled - perfect!

hloakes, I had planned to go with PDAsLostorStolen. Looks like I'll have to do some hunting around.
