Curious - How much of your Visor's memory are you using? (This might also give those wavering b/w a Std. and a Dlx. an idea of what their mem. usage will look like).

Currently I have 4779K of 7936K free.

5712 of 7936 Free with AvantGo and Tiger Woods sampler taking up the most. AvantGo will definitely grow. Glad I didn't get the 2meg Visor!

834K of 1792K...

I DID get the 2MB Visor, and I think I should have gotten the Deluxe. I had this thing loaded up to only 500K free, and then I took the stock photos off the Image Viewer III program, so now I have 834 free...

My previous PDA was a Pilot 1000 from US Robotics. It had 128K of memory....(that's TOTAL, not just free) so I figured 2MB would put me in hog heaven....oh well

Cool

5468 still free...even after installing the full text of:

Anna Karenina
The Iliad
The Origin of Species
The US constitution

+ some other small goodies: games, a timer, tip calculator etc.

On my 2 Meg Palm Pro/III upgrade, I couldn't even fit one of the complete eBooks. I'm in PDA heaven, even with my springboards still backordered.

I'm thinking of adding Star Pilot and Bdicty. Anyone have any experience with either?

------------------
RAM flies when you're having fun... now down to:

1468 free internal
7923 free on the Flash card

Although I went ahead and got Star Pilot, the big drop in free RAM is from ebooks...I added the Federalist Papers (1.124 M) and a collection of Sherlock Holmes stories (0.553M)

So far the Flash card only has games and small apps: Timerz, TipMe.

Hah, I am just about at 0 free of my 8 megs.
(Anyone suggest a Defragmenter or is one needed? The one I downloaded didn't work)

I have all sorts on it, all of Shakespeare, currently reading William S. Burroughs (weird weird)... I have TealDoc, Teal Paint, Teal Info, Isolo, AportisDoc, ToDoPlus, Avantgo, Thesaurus, Translator etc etc

As for games, I play Dope Wars, Dragon Bane, Quest, Lode Runner, Frogger, Pac Man, Donkey Kong Jr, Trivia...

As for silly stuff, I have GayDar, Hairy Palm, Animated 8 Ball, I Ching, Pocket Monkey, Digi Pet and some others...

I use a few Hackmasters also, Greenlight Hack, Nimh Set, Silence, Launch'Em, and some more I can't think of.

Plus I have Photo Albumn or something and I converted 10 pics of my son to carry around with it...

Whew... I know I missed a bunch... 8 megs is nice and LaunchEm really makes things easier.

Oh I forgot Palm Journal and Four 0's (for upcoming college days)

5221K of 7936K

So I'm using 2715K.

And that's after installing AvantGo, AportisDoc, Walt Whitman's Leaves of Grass, Milton's Paradise Lost, Jules Verne's Underground City, Spaceballs the Movie Script, Monty Python's Meaning of Life, Southpark: Bigger, Longer, Uncut (script), and a butload of games!

I was upgrading from a 3Com PalmPilot Professional with 1 MB of RAM, and was originally considering the standard visor with 2 MB. Seeing all the apps that I've found are available for this thing, I'm glad I got the deluxe. Plus, I like the color (blue); graphite is kinda boring,...

;-)

4388K free. Biggest hogs are Tealdoc and Avant Go. I wondered if I would need the deluxe as I basically only wanted an organizer. There is so much out there that is so easy to get though that I am glad that I have the room not to worry.

Gee, I've been sitting here with all this unused memory! I have got over 7 megs FREE. SO, guys, can you give me a capsule description of Teal Doc and Avant Go? Why do I want to clutter my Visor with 'em?

5680 of 7936 free.

I'm using AvantGo, HanDBase with quite a few databases, CSpotRun, TealMeal, lots of games, ICQ (wish I had a modem!), StarPilot, and lots of others.

Huski - StarPilot is great. I highly recommend it if you're into astronomy. But, you should know that I've not tried any of the other astronomy programs, so my opinion is uneducated.

Well, Mark, I don't have AvantGo, but everybody who post who has it says its the greatest thing since PDAs.
It allows one to browse selected web sites on your Visor, with updates upon hotsynch.

Check out http://avantgo.com/

3926 of 7936 free. Glad I'm not the only one.

Avantgo (v1.1e so that I can sync local files), CSpotRun with a few docs, HanDBase with a couple of BIG databases, the usual collection of Hacks, a couple of games (including AncientRed v1.2), etc, etc, etc.

My last PDA was a Palm III (original), so I knew better than to go with a 2MB Visor.

At this rate, it looks like HS is going to sell a bunch of 8MB modules, huh?

5789K of 7936K is free.

I've loaded in (seemingly) tons of docs and apps -- gotta love an efficient machine!! I have a 8Mb flash card on backorder -- will be able tto cram pots of stuff onto the visor provided that Microsoft doesn't get into the Palm software business (Heaven forbid. 12 Mb WORD for Palm, anyone?)
