I think this may be a little paranoid.

He does show a number of out of the box color configurations. He also shows a few in his chosen configuration.

Chrome has been talked about by many on the comp.sys.palmtops.pilot forum as a solution to the 'grid' or 'mesh' background which appears to be most apparent in the default settings on the Prism (full white background). I'm glad he showed both. Knowing what the grid effect looks like on a Palm IIIc, it's nice to know that the effect can be greatly reduced.

Geez. Some people can be so cynical. What would he be selling?

BTW.. Chrome makes the Visor even more cooler than it already is. Definitely will be the first piece of software I register for my Prism.

and No... I am not associated with Chrome or TwinkleTwkinle in any way

Of the 21 pictures, only 2 show out of box configuration. Visor in Cradle and city time. All else have keyboard sticker, (not with visor) a different case (not with visor) apps (not with visor) springboard module (not with visor). Although it is an interesting discussion on chrome on some forums. This "pictures of a prism" posting here, I feel would be "misleading" to others interested in the prism. Better postings would be those components, applications, covers docu etc, that actually came with the prism, not some 3rd pary stuff in the mix. One of the first questions from one in this thread was a confusion about this keyboard.

However, these are Nice pictures, of someones "customized" configuration.

So you decided to go with the Prism?

I still haven't made up my mind, although these photos are definitely pushing me towards the Prism. I'm hoping somebody at Internet World in NYC tomorrow will be toting a Prism so I can see the screen first hand!

I see that Palm is supposed to be at Internet World, but surprisingly, not Handspring (who unveiled the Visor at Internet World last year).

Yeah, please! Chrome seems an awesome piece of software for a color Palm OS device, and I'm glad to know about it / see it demo'd.
Thanks again, Dave, for all your photos / efforts. I figured the screen-refresh might be the culprit, like when you take snapshots / video of a TV.
One more request, please?
Have you loaded any of the movie players (MTI or ActiveSky - or others I may not know about), and do they do themselves proud in color / can we see some screenshots?
TIA, you da man!

Yes I decided to go with the Prism. I had already ordered the platinum, but that will eb going back as soon as the Prism arrives. I was given the opportunity to play with a Prism for a few days....and man is it sweet. I am having a hard time looking at my Old Visor Deluxe now that I have seen the Prism first hand.

George,

I'm simply showing "My Prism". Anyone that reads the postings in this topic will understand that. The various add-ons that you see are there because I'm taking pictures of my Prism, configured the way I'm using it.

When I first realized that I might want to buy a Prism, I looked around to see if I could find any good pictures of it. I couldn't. I started this topic because I thought others might have the same interests.

Dave

Dave,
Can I buy a case, Chrome 1.1 beta, and a keyboard sticker from you? I wasn't sure I wanted them but your pictures changed my mind. I thought I was going to get it all from Handspring when my visor showed up, but I guess not. How much for Dave's Deluxe Bundle?

Exclamation

Hey Dave...

When Handspring ships me my Prism, will I get a white puppy or a full grown dog?

I agree with yardie, Chrome will be my fist piece of software I buy for my prism. I just tried it for the first time. It makes your prism look completely different. To all you other prism owners out there you have to give it a try.

bkbk,

I have not yet loaded any movie players. As soon as I do I'll try some pictures and post them, or at least a note to explain my failure.

As soon as I get Avantgo working in color I'll attend to your previous request as well.

Dave

Yeah, set me up w/a pup, please.
Dave, w/6,000 views in 2.5 days, you must've been right that there were precious other places to get such a good solid sequence of photos of Prism.
Keep up the good work!

will using the chrome software increase battery life since it doesn't have to light up the background white?
