Question

How many people here actually managed to order something when the web store was up and running? I was in the orders from 1000 - 1600 on 10/6.

Give the problems with the phone orders, I'm sorta glad I waited until the web store was operational. For the little time it was up, anyway...

I ordered mine online on the 6th too. I got a confirmation email and even checked the status online on the 7th. So, I am pretty sure it's in the system and I'm not going to bug the poor CSR's....yet.

mine is 1009-3127, ordered on 10/9. But a guy from the same town as I am ordered thru' the phone on 10/12 and he has a visor in his hand now. Really sucks. Now we have no way to check our status until the website is up and running.

Wink

I'm another person in the same category. I'm trying not to get too nervous reading some of the horror stories posted here, and realizing that being one of the few orders placed on-line puts it in a bit of a no-man's-land. :-)

But I am being patient and assuming there's no problem unless I don't get a Visor by November 17.

Addendum: midD, if that happened to me, I would give Handspring hell and directly quote to them the sentence in the confirmation that says they would ship orders exactly in the order they received them!

I also ordered 10/6 in the 1800's according to my invoice. Unfortunately, I think there is a different series of numbers for the phone orders. I have not seen any of us web guys reporting deliveries. I have my confirmation E-mail and figure 15 Nov will be my D-day (worst case)

I have no idea how that one guy who said he ordered by phone on 10/12 would've gotten his by now, but I verified all the info on my on-line order with CS and I am fine now I know those orders didn't get wiped out with the web site.

Plus *I* input the info and have a confirmation so I know the info is correct.

Whew!

I waited for the online store to go up before I placed an order because I much prefer being able to double check my info visually. Giving my order details to some numb-skull over the phone seemed like a sure way to have something go wrong. And from listening to the plights of the poor VC members who have been screwed over I guess my uneasiness was well founded. However, being a web developer I never imagined that they would have such a severe problem with their online store... Oh, well.

My order number is within the first 90 online orders and I placed it on 10/6 at about 7:30am Pacific. I am in Seattle, WA, so if they can even get to the order data from online orders, I should be in the first batch of web orders to go out. I will certainly post a notice if/when I do receive it.

Question

Hey, JAK. You confirmed your order info but did they say that any of the online orders had gone to be shipped yet?

CodeMonkey, lets race! I live in Seattle too, and I placed my order on 9/18 over the phone. Lets put this On-line order vs. phone order to the test!

Nope - no confirmation of it being shipped yet. The CSR I spoke to today said "within two weeks" for delivery, which would exceed my expectations. In another thread, someone indicated that all orders through mid-October had been sent for shipping, but who knows? I'd prefer not to get my hopes up! I'm leaving on a business trip on 11/8 though, so I hope it arrives in time!

I actually put through two separate orders on 10/6. I wonder if they'll ship together???

Thanks discHead,

I already tried calling 716 871 6442. It is really exasperating, what I got is this. You hear the voice message saying how busy they are and impt we are, some sick music then it disconnects you.

I am starting to wonder if this company is run by "bean counter" whose only concern is saving more pennies. If that is the case I AM RETURNING MY VISOR!

Okay, irewolf but I am pretty sure that you will win the battle between a phone order on 9/18 and a web order on 10/6 to Seattle.
From what I can gather not a single person who ordered online has even been told that their order has been sent off to the shipping center.

Ordered online 9pm ET on 10/7 with #2600-something. Credit card not showing anything pending (Has anyone who ordered online had their card tagged yet ?)

Based upon other confirmation #s, at least I can now guess that the order #s are a cumulative total and fortunately not per day....otherwise my patience in waiting to order through the online store doesn't make me think it was too late.

It's a small consolation knowing that my order is sooner than later. Then again if shipments are going out in random it won't matter.

Question

I don't know CodeMonkey, from the things I have heard, and from people I talk to face to face, not via the rumor mill, they have been having major troubles. I ordered Ice, and I read somewhere on this board, that a person had ordered an Ice serial cradle for work, got it with a note saying Ice visors were back ordered. Hmmmm... Either Or, I am getting antzy... Honestly, I think it will be a tie.

I ordered mine on 10/6 and I'm number 1900-something... so it shows you how many orders they're probably dealing with! Since the online ordering went up way after they started taking phone orders it makes sense that online orders haven't arrived yet.

I'm patiently waiting.

I ordered on 10/6 via web. I was leary of the Pen and Paper order method, plus I wanted a custom case that I also ordered. So we'll see when/if that ever comes. Nothing on the CC yet, but I suspect it will be soon.

JAK,

How were you able to confirm your online order over the phone? I thought we couldn't do that. I haven't called the new number yet, so my apologies if that would have answered my question.

Oh, my order number was in the 1500's.

It's just that I'm starting to hear Muzak in my dreams.

Unhappy

I ordered online on 10/7 and was in the high 2300s. When I called on 10/15 to confirm the order, I was told they couldn't confirm or modify any online orders and that I'd have to wait until the online store was back up to confirm/change. *sigh*

My Visor mantra - "be patient" "be patient" "be patient" (at least until 11/18).

I just got off the phone with cust. service and they said the only way I can check on my order status is to wait until the HSpring web site is once again operational.

I ordered a greenie on 10/09/99 through the web site.

no cc charge yet.
