Unhappy

So it's not just me. I just received an email from someone else who's Visor will get a fatal reset when trying to connect to Mindspring via the Cardaccess Thincom Modem. See my post in the discuss/modules section. According to a Handspring rep that replied to that post, Palm OS has a problem with the results of some servers. I was told that this could happen if your username/password was incorrect. Looks like mine was correct, perhaps I am trying to connect to the incorrect ISP using a buggy PDA!

I also have Mindspring. But right now I'm waiting for the 6-pac modem. Have you tried to get your mail by using the MIndspring www page? Just a thought...

Evan :-)

I've been connecting to Mindspring all over this country and parts of Canada (they have some 'grandfather' lines up there) with my visor and the Handspring modem with NO PROBLEM whatsoever, since March! (got the modem the day they were available!

I use Proxiweb and Proximail and AvantGo and have never received an error.

I don't think it's the PalmOS. I think it's ThinCom. Others have been getting errors with this modem.

A little testing shows that if your password is incorrect, you will get a fatal error. It happends everytime. Handspring told me that this can happen and is a bug in the Palm OS. Whatever it is, I have it.
