Comments and questions on games

I love spy hunter. anyone have an opinion as to whether the repeated pressing of the keys leads to unreasonable wear and tear on the unit? I picked a game face at Staples for $4.50 and it is great fun. Also 14.99 seems a little steep for these games. Anyone have a comment?

Nethack Type Game

Slightly off-topic, but it's still one of the all time classics. Any PalmOS versions?

Talking color games/favorites

My favorite color games for the palm os in no particular order:

"Mini-golf" and "Billiards" both by megasoft (www.megasoft2000.com)
excellent graphics, fun to play

"Rotomino's Box" by gameloft
very unique game, superior graphics, fun to play

"Bejewelled", "revenge", "mummy-maze", etc.. nearly all games by astraware
their games are all very addictive puzzle type games, very fun to play, graphics aren't exceptionally amazing, but good.

just my opinion...! -eric

I love spy hunter but I have it in black and white. I hope they update it so I can hear the music. Ohhhh the music, did you know it was done by Henri Mancini who did the pink panther music?

I do so well at the game on the palm and it feels the exact same as when I played it on the commodore64. But when I play at shockwave I suck. That high and low gear shift throws me off. And when I use my playstation type controler it is super sensitive. When I use the keyboard the buttons are too far apart.

The palm version used to be done by pocket express but they were bought out by Handmark. Here is a link.

I would suggest buying the whole midway arcade classic collection which is only a few bucks more but adds some other games. I love playing Tapper but they chaged the name to Root Beer Tapper, he he. Joust was a game I never played back in the day but its fun none the less.

I'm a big fan or RPG's, so I recomment Aldons' Crossing first (www.constantgames.com) and I'm gonna second the Astraware games.

I strongly recommend the Handmark (PocketExpress) Midway Arcade Classics set. For only $19.99, you get Joust, SpyHunter, Rootbeer Tapper, Sinistar, and Defender II. Can't beat that with a stick! They are the only games I have bought. I just play the demo version of the other games that I recommend (Zap2016, Bejeweled, Ababall, and SevenSeas) but they are good enough to buy if you have the money.

If I remember correctly, I got my Klondike Solitaire color version free from Handspring as a Prism color demo software off of their web page. I don't know if it is still there or not.

I also love Vexed. Fabulous puzzle game when I played it on my Deluxe and I love it even more on my Prism. Astroids by Astraware is also great in color but they were forced to pull it from their website because of infringement. I really had to dig for it. If I find it, I'll post a link.

Lately I've been playing "Master Thief", it's a really neat game set in a true 3D world. It reminds me of many of the 3D games for the PC and Playstation... kind of like the classic "castle wolfenstein". check out the URL, they give you the first adventure free, the rest you have to pay for.. but at only around $12 a pop, they are worth the price!

Thumbs up Give me Liberty...

Hey,

I would have to say liberty the gameboy emulator for the palm. I find it to be one of the better games out there for the palm. I used to have it on my edge and that was cool. Now I have it on my prism and it looks even better. The color version is very reminiscent of super gameboy for snes where you were able to change the 4 shades of color that each game uses. I find the customization of each gameboy game to be the best feature. Each game has it's own preference file this makes it so you set the preference for each game and forget about it. Liberty comes with demo gameboy roms and links to free roms not of copyrighted roms. The rule of thumb for roms is that if you do not own the actual game, you can play a rom for 24 hours and then you have to "delete" it from your machine. I own all the games that I have roms for. Right now I am into zelda: links awakening.
My next faves are pretty much anything from astraware (bejeweled, alchemy, bounce out, big money! and zap 2016). I cannot get rid of 3d blockout which is too cool to let go. I had rifle slugz on my prism for a while but it got tired after 2 weeks, the game is too big and too repeptitive. Master Thief looks good but I did not like how Deity 3d looked and Master Thief is just an extention of it. All Master Thief does is it lets palm users know that it can be done but it was not done in time. Os 5 devices are on their way big time with enough power to handle ports of quake 2 and lower powered devices are out. Sorry for the lecture. :-)
