Thumbs down Itchy & Scratchy

Is it me, or is the stylus tip of the Visor Pro more likely to cause scratches?

Half a year ago when I had the Deluxe just installing one piece of screen protective film is enough, even until now. The screen is still clear and readable with not much visible scratches (only graffiti area slightly blur) after I've passed on the VDx to my friend.

..with my new Pro (gotten about 5 weeks ago) I installed the same type of screen protective film, but I've gone through about 3 pieces of it now because the film got so scratched that it made the screen unreadable. The graffitti area looked like it's been scratched by a razor, with highly visible marks all over it.

Did anyone else notice this?

They fight, and fight, and fight and fight and fight, fight fight fight, fight fight fight. . . .

Anyway, I think there's something with the Visor styluses that ruin the screens, because they go so easily.

How sharper than a serpent's tooth ... err, I mean, how sharp is the tip of the stylus from the Pro?

My advice would be to check your stylus tip. It sounds to me like it might have a slight burr or other imperfection that's causing your increased wear. Some fine sandpaper (or even an emery board) combined with a light touch can fix a stylus' imperfections pretty easily.

Why is it that when I type a loong reply, and when i press submit the browser will 99% of the time go blank and say page not found error and the message isn't posted and when i press the back button it goes back to the reply page EXCEPT that it don't have my replies in it..AARGHH

ANYWAYS - I'll retype everything AGAIN

**

It's the same as a Deluxe stylus, only slightly shorter, by about 1 or 2mm. I noticed that the Pro's stylus was slightly more soft & rubbery compared to the Delxue stylus. This may have caused the extra friction on the film and causing it to scratch ridiculously. I also noticed the Prism's stylus is the same as the Pro's. Anyone can confirm this?

I'd have taken a picture of it but i'm not sure whether it'll show up in the pics. But it's really visible. (Even with a passing glance, esp. in direct sunlight friends were going - WHOA WHY IS YOUR VISOR SO SCRATCHED UP???????!!)

Oh by the way, I checked and there is nothing wrong with my stylus tip - it's all smooth with no flash and pointy stuff like that.

I don't have a microscope here to check out my stylus.. Anyone can think of a good cheapo stylus substitute?

Hmmm maybe you should also check out the screen of your Solo under the microscope an see the scratches at 200x.

Seriously though, I'm a bit worried over this and I'm running out of film soon... (yeah I can buy some more but 3 changes in 5 weeks is ridiculous, esp. when my friend is still using my previous Visor with the protective film STILL in place)

You can probably get one of the five-pack Stylus sets for cheap right now, if you can find one. It'd be the same/similar stylus as your Deluxe.

I'm using the black one in my bumper case, with the original stylus still in the silo of the Visor. (Basically I always have two stylus with me. except when the fershluggin black one falls out 'cuz the case silo is wearing a bit.)

I can't tell the difference between my Prism's stylus and my wife's Deluxe's stylus (someone said they were different).

I bought the stylus five pack about two years ago and instanly gouged my screen with one of them. I noticed a ridge around the tip separating the smooth tip and the textured sides. I had to file down every one of those styli. Now I don't scratch the screen anymore.

Also, I now use the NuShield screen protectors. They do darken the look of the screen a little bit, but I just turn up the brightness to the "n" of brightness and no longer worry about scratches. My ATOMIK sticker even stays in place on it. I tried putting the NuShield over the ATOMIK sticker, but that caused digitizer problems.

The world's only OTHER Pro owner here...

Hi, Digisane;

Have had my Pro for about 4 months now. Never had a problem with the stylus scratching the screen. \

Speaking of purchasing extra stylii... you can get extra packets of stylii at Target stores at 50% off. The local Target in my 'hood is selling a 3 pack for 9 dollars.
