Unhappy At wit's end w/ memplug - help please

Hi everyone, I've lurked here quite awhile and am completely at wits end with this memplug. I'm hoping someone can help me.

My Platinum has had 50 or more fatal alerts in the last 2 days since I got the memplug.

The most current one is when I try to enable PiDirect. I get MemoryMgr.c, Line:4359, Free handle. I have to reset on the back of the Handspring.

I d/l the Launcher III app, as well as PiVFSMgr. TomeRaider is basically useless to me, because I can't get anything to work from the card except the help file and one other file (Simpsons Quotes). Dictionary crashed. Star Wars Encyclopedia crashed. I transferred TomeRaider and the files to the PiDirect directory (when it worked) and had the same problems. I have the newest version of TomeRaider, but I heard the last version had less problems. Where can I find it?

I can move games and other programs using Launcher III and they work fine, but it seems I can't get things like a good dictionary, the imDb file, etc to work. This is a big reason I wanted the memplug in the first place.

Am I doing something wrong or is this the way things are? I went to http://staff.unk.edu/s/spradlinb/visor/home.html and basically did everything I read on that site.

Help me please!!

Hi,
Have you gone to www.memplug.com and got the latest flash update for your module?
Brian

Yes, I got the 1.67 update the same day I got it. PiDirect actually can be enabled, and not crash, but only if the directory is empty. The minute I try to place anything in the piDirect directory, it crashes .

Should I just reformat the card? If I do, can I just copy the directories to a folder on my computer, and copy them back after formatting? I'd hate to go through all this manually again.

Thanks in advance

Do not put any databases in the \Palm\PiDirect path that needs to
be updated by a program. If you have databases there, move
them to internal ram and try again.

Well I re-formatted the cad, erased the flash on memplug, and started from scratch. I currently have a dictionary, encyclopedia, CIA Factbook, and imDb sitting in my \Palm\PiDirect directory and the TomeRaider program in my \Palm\Launcher directory. Everything seems to be ok now.

I did try to send some other TR files directly to the PiDirect with my cardreader, but got fatal errors again. I remove them and everything is fine. Is it possible that specific files can crash my Visor?

I may actually keep this memplug now, if it co-operates with me
