I have Outlook Express 5.0 for the Mac and the MultiMail Mac Conduit installed. When I do I HotSync, it seems that only a portion of the messages are synched. When I compose a message on my Visor, it seems to disappear completely when I do a HotSynch, and it most definetly does not send it via Outlook Express.

Are there any Mac users out there who have e-mail synching successfully between their Visors and Macs????

Thanks,
Gavin

I just noticed something odd... by the time an e-mail message reaches the Visor, the first line of text is missing. Sometimes it seems to be a little bit more than just one line.

Very strange indeed...

How do other Mac users have e-mail set up??

Gavin

Question

Can't really offer any input on your problem, but since you've already downloaded MultiMate, can you tell me if it supports mail from Netscape 4.0 on Mac?
I have OE5, but don't want to switch to it unless nessecary.
Thanks.

Yeah...struggled with this myself for the last two weeks. I just finished debugging the applescript code that talks between the Multimail conduit and OE. Sure enough there was a missing linefeed. I've now got email downloading onto my Visor through MM, but haven't finished the upload portion of the code.
I emailed MM two days ago re: the bug in the applescript. Maybe they'll contact this week. In the meantime, I'll finish editing the scripts and post them somewhere for everyone's bene.

Misc:
iMac Dv, Visor Solo, USB Cradle, OE 5, MM Conduit 1.2, OS 9

Very cool, mdrovdahl!

I'd love corrected copies of those AppleScripts when you're done with them! I'll bet Actualsoft is pretty red-faced... have they even tried their own software out yet? Hmm...

Gavin

P.S. How do you like the iMac DV? I have a Rev A. iMac I bought way back in August of 1998 and it's never let me down.

Lightbulb

Well, since Actual distribute the AppleScript source code, I suppose it's public domian So I'm debating the best way to make the new applescripts available. Ah, why not make the iMac a fileserver, we'll see just how strong my Mac is. If you've got the ability to Appleshare over tcp/ip, then try afp://24.9.58.244 -- login as "Guest"
If all you've got is ftp, then we'll try ftp://24.9.58.244 -- login as "Anonymous" or "Guest", ftp will be less reliable.

Email me with problems getting on.

Mark

Red face

Well, now that I have mail coming on my visor, is there a way so that I don't get the "truncated" messages? I want the full thing! What can I use to fix this?

Mike

Oh yeah and another problem, can anyone explain why I can download mail from OE 5.0 but when I write mail on my visor, it doesn't go to the outbox or draft folders in OE5. Instead, it just disappears altogether. I'm pretty sure my hotsynch is set to synchronize. Also again with the truncated messages too.. I want to get rid of the limit.

Thanks,
Mike
