Disappointed with Handspring...
Hi, I'm Andre,
from sunny Singapore and I'm a Vdx user... I love VisorCentral and everything about my Visor... the buttons, the Springboards and stuff... but recently, I was shocked about the termination of the Visor line.
What I would like to tell Handspring (Donna or Jeff, if they are watching this) is that you guys shouldn't kill the Visor just like that.
Where's the color-Edge that we wanted?? Or how about Prism-II that we also wanted??
You guys came out with the Neo and Pro (first 16MB Palm OS device) and that was great replacements for the Deluxe and Platinum.. but what about Prisms? How about Edge-II as well???
We were all waiting for you guys (Handspring) to annouce such stuff everyday, but nooo.... we waited and waited, but there wasn't anything, except for the demise of the Visor line.
At that time of annoucement, us Visor owners had so many Springboard addons to get! We could have MP3, camera, bar-code scanner, wireless modems (802.11 Wifi), mobilephone (VPhone) and even a massager or sleep-inducer!! We had more than what Palm Inc PDAs or SONY Clies had! But that annoucement killed everything... who wants to make Springboards anymore??? If I were the manufacturer, I'd be cursing you guys already.
Now about the Treo. Yes, it's cool. It's great. And I want one. I've seen one in December 2001 and it's awesome. But the pricetag?? If you convert that pricetag to Singapore Dollars, what I can tell you is that more people will rather jump to using the Nokia Communicator than use the Treo! Size-wise, Treo wins, but have you guys ever thought about BETTER pricing??
Over the past few months, I have gotten myself an IBM c3 Workpad (Vx equivalent), and I have to admit, that I cannot live without expansion modules... and that was the reason why I got the Visor Deluxe in the first place... if not for the Vdx, I wouldn't have even gotten to know of VisorCentral or Handspring.
Handspring, please wake up, and stop thinking about the future. It's time to start thinking about what the consumers need and want.
Cheers,
Andre aka Zip-Zilla
