I don't have any experience on PB 1400. Here is some info. I used to tech. support users.

* iMac Classic/PowerMac G3 with OS 8.5
You will need to download Apple's IrDA IrCOMM driver for your PowerMac or iMac for the IR Port to communicate with your Visor. Download the file from one of the following URL:
http://palm.3com.com/custsupp/downl...rashqx3leg.html (25 MB) or
http://palm.3com.com/custsupp/downl...rasbin3leg.html (18.3MB)

* For OS 9.0 or newer, it has the Infrared driver in the OS. You will not need anything from Apple.

Hope you get lucky on PB1400. My impression is PB 1400 only supports IrTalk (not IrDA standard). I am not sure upgrading to newer OS will give you IrDA capability either.

Good luck,

Well, I'm trying to use IRLink with my powerbook and can't get it to synch but the Visor knows and recognizes my powerbook is there receiving signals. Now, why is it that it just won't synch though???
