I can't get the network connections to work, - - i have tried my own isp and the quick network connect. This particular phone's data kit has some circuitry in it which provides 8 volts on the handshaking lines. This should power the serial cradle. Also, have noticed that the phone will connect once, then loose the call, and from then on ignore the visor (when using online)
Has anyone had any sucess with this particular phone, or another LG phone with this data connection kit... also, do any of the cable mfgrs have any suggestions?
I'm very curious about the answer to this one as well. I'm at the end of my contract, and I'm looking to stay with Verizon (as they have the best coverage in the Central NJ area), but I was looking into different phones, and the 510 caught my eye. It's a little thicker than my current Startac, but it's much smaller overall (and definately less of a load than the only other real option, the Timeport, although the color LED screen is enticing). I also like the dual-screen feature, and I couldn't help but think that the keypad had a nice feel to it. Problem is, I want to be able to go online with my Visor. It's well documented that Startacs, Timeports and the like have no trouble getting online with Verizon's QNC, but I want to know if it's possible with the 510 as well. I imagine it is - the phone is mini-browser equipped, and had many of the same features as the Startac, but without a viable Visor->Cable->510 solution, I might as well just stay with what I've got, even if I'm not that happy with it.
Anyway, the point of this diatribe is that I, too, would like to know if anyone has had any luck/experience with the LG510.
