Documents To Go rebate

Is this offer only valid for purchases made at handspring.com and datavitz.com, and retail stores like Compusa, etc, or is it also good at ONLINE stores such as amazon.com.

I have called and emailed Handspring several times and every time I get a different answer. some of them say it's only good if I buy at handspring.com and datavitz.com, others say amazon.com would also work.

anybody know?

don't know for sure. the press release does say "online at handspring.com (or dataviz.com) or at retail.....). and the rebate form on the handspring website is referred to as a "retail mail-in rebate form".

on the other hand the instructions on the form itself make no reference to how the purchase was made, but require only that the two items be purchased on the same receipt.

i can't imagine a reason why the companies would distinguish between an in-person purchase at a CompUSA store and a purchase off of the CompUSA website. and if the CompUSA website were okay, than amazon should be cool too.

in fact, they should be happy if the consumer buys Doc to Go at the lowest price possible, since that reduces the $ to be paid back on the rebate offer.

but i don't know of any way for you to get a definitive answer other than a response from the companies (or perhaps some enterprising staff person at visorcentral can help )

Rebate

I am a Handspring reseller, and I did receive an Email that told me that my customers could by a Handspring at our retail location and take advantage of this offer. I believe that as long as you by the Documents to Go between 24 & 48 hours after buying the Visor, they will send you the Rebate.
I like Docs to go OK... The speadsheet files do open faster than Quicksheet, but I have a hard time parting with Wordsmith! That is one nice program...

i called handspring customer care on 10/17 and asked the question....they said the rebate was only good for retail (physical store) purchases or purchases on the Handspring website.
of course, that could just be what they WANT us to think. thanks for the post, TDS_Computer - i just wish we could get a definitive, pro-online-rebate answer. i really don't want to spend $70 on Docs to Go professional, but i also don't want to buy at the Handspring site (or in person) when i can get better deals online.

i just discovered that amazon.com is advertising the Pro as being available with the rebate. don't know if it's an amazon-only deal or if, as TDS suggested, all online purchases are now fair game for the rebate.
