As much as we all concur that Win CE is a lame idea, the one thing remains puzzling. If any of you log on to the Dice.com and search for jobs opportunities for Win CE programmers, you will find an abundance of adds. Now does this mean there are lots of gullible companies out there wasting their money or they are smarter then we are? I think WinCE will fail in Palm size market. Signs are out there. Handhelds and vertical markets are different animals all together. WinCE may in fact excel in those, sadly.

WinCE is a terrible platform, however Microsoft is excellent at marketing it and this is why there are so many programming jobs available. Many corporations will give an employee a WinCE device for free and encourage them to toss out their Palm device b/c Microsoft does such a good marketing job with it to corporations. However, in the consumer market where the consumer is more educated and desires the best platform the best one wins, and in this case it is Palm.
