I'm having fun! So, I got a ICU digital Charger for my Visor, while the charging part is cool, the more important part is the battery cover. It has contacts on the battery, and nice little exposed strips of metal on the top of it, easy to attach wires, etc. SO.. having a little fun in life I did 2 things. I really like this charger, and it might not be as "professional" and "supported" It's great!

1) Made the cradle a charger. By taping wires and tinfoil in the right places (under the contacts) and than connectingthe wires to the charger, you can have a cradle charging soloution! When your visor is in the cradle it charges, when it's not, it doesn't do anything.

2) People complaing about the graffiti area not backlighted, so using a same I dea, Ihooked up a little LED to those contacts, and got it wired nicely s othat now, when it lights up, it lights up the graffiti area, and/or a keyboard if I need to use one in the dark. It also functions as a great flashlight! I'll psot pictures as soon as I can get pictures taken, but trust me.. It's pretty amatuer sh, and ugly, but it does the job.

What's nice though, that none of this stuff involves takeing anyhtign apart, and none of it voids your warrenty.. and for my final thing.. a work in progress.

I took my Plam III repro cover (for the flip-clip) and am in the process of sanding it , and than buffering it, in my asttempts to make it more transparent. I'm workign with the Ice one, and it appears to be just a clear plastic texturesd. Right now, it seems to be going well, and if everything goes right, I'll have a see through cover, like the FLIPLIDS will be!

I'm having fun.. PLEASE comment. Oh and if you can get any of the little plastic clip that clips on the back of the battery cover, please give me an e-mail.. I'm looking for a couple to work with.

Don't have pictures yet.. but ..

DO NOT TRY TO MAKE YOUR PALM III LIDS CLEAR!! WARNING!

It seems that the hard outer coating, has a lot of the structual strength in it, so when I took it off, IT craked, and craked, and craked, and now it's dead. Not only that, on of the tabs fell off. PLEASE DO NOT TRY THIS!

Lubkly, for me. I was doing this on my Ice one, and the Ice REALLY doesn't match my platinum so I'm glad it's ok.
