Thumbs up Painted my Edge!

I didn't want a silver one, it would have been just like everyone else and the clear edging looked stupid. I got the blue but hated how it looked - So I decided to paint it. I ordered some black "hammertone" enamel from the eastwood company, took it all apart and painted it. It looks awesome! I trashed the free aluminum case that came with it, but it was worth it. Anyone want to see pictures?

I think I did about 5 really thin coats so that I didn't get any runs. The trick is to bake it in the oven to harden the enamel. I cooked the alum front and back, and the alum flip cover (after all of the plastic is removed) about an hour at 250, and the flip cover piece that goes into the edge connector slot about an hour, after I shut the oven off. I trashed the alum case and the edge connector cover because I left them in for the hour at 250, and all of the plastic melted. Just a note, cell phone covers melt too in the oven.......

I used it all week and so far none of the paint has come off. My edge lives in my right front jeans pocket 90% of the time, so it looks to be pretty durable..

Cool Don't We Have Fun!

Don't We Have Fun with these! Really enjoy reading about what we do with, how we "accessorize", and get enthusiastic about our handhelds.

Have always enjoyed life's simple (tr or pl)easures. Our Loving Creator sure makes some neat stuff available!
